Not Your Mother’s Pesto
What about Lemon verbena and mint, or Sun Dried Tomatoes and Basil, or Marjoram and Savory or Tarragon and fresh peas? These are amazing combinations sure to excite your palette. Presented by The Herb Society of America – Southern Michigan Unit. Tastings are part of this presentation as well as information about joining The Southern Michigan Unit. Class fee is $5.
On Saturday Sept.21, Not Your Mothers Pesto was fun and very relaxed. We served 4 pestos with each member talking a bit about the pesto she brought. Annie demonstrated her sun dried tomato pesto. There were excellent questions as most of the attendees had made pesto and wanted to know more. Five members of the club supported the event. There were multiple handouts about making pesto and the tasting table had four pestos with noodles and crackers so the class could sample a variety of pestos. The recipes are presented here for you to make at home. Enjoy!
