Every Gathering Should Have a Theme – Annie Gruber

Michigan Herb Associates – 2014 Conference & Banquet  March 7 and 8,  Michigan State University.

Michigan Herb Associates’ own long-time member Annie Gruber wrapped-up our twenty-seventh annual conference, sharing with us her ideas for a successful family gathering with “Every Gathering Should Have a Theme!” She discussed how to plan a themed party, be it a day, weekend, or a longer vacation and shared fun ideas to bring family and friends together with food, crafts, decorations, and more, including all age groups. Annie shared recipes and provided food tastes for some of her favorite ideas. She modestly describes herself as a mother, grandmother, chef, gardener, crafter, scrapbooker, bookclubber, party planner, former shopkeeper, and nature lover. Despite Annie’s modesty, many MHA members know she is a master of many talents.

She is a member of The Herb Society of America, Southern Michigan Unit; long-time member of MHA; and regularly writes The Herbal Table for the MHA Journal. Her Journal articles chronicling her family’s annual gatherings give a great deal of insight as to how fun, creative, and relaxed an event she can plan. What a great way to close a fun and informative two days!

Here’s more information to help you plan your gathering.
